Are battery operated electric hedge trimmers good for minor landscaping?
Do they work pretty good?
I'm thinking of getting a Black and Decker hedge trimmer and other battery operated yard tools.
Older versions of such trimmers were not the best. I have one of the latest and I have a farm in NJ. It's the best tool I ever purchased for the past 2 years and the charge lasts a very long time. It's great when used around tall grasses where a Weed Whacker only gets tangled. And I have used it for hedges with no problems. Thick branches will always require the use of hand loppers, even the plug-in type can not cut them. The nice thing about the trimmer is that I can selectively pick out a weed next to a flowering bush without fear of cutting any portion of it, like you would with a whacker. I do recommend buying the one with the highest voltage as they are the more powerful and longer lasting.
