Logmaster Saw Horse
If you want one tool that will improve your abilities and efficiencies in building and wood working, it has got to be a Rockwell JawHorse workbench. Its versatility and portability allow you to use it just about anywhere and take it with you when you go offsite. It folds easily and weighs less than 45 lbs. so it can easily be loaded into a car and transported to your site. The JawHorse has wheels so it can be moved to a different spot if you are working in tight spaces. But most importantly, it allows you to tackle jobs that needed 2 people before and that saves time and money!
This is a heavy duty product that is both versatile and sturdy. It is not the type of workbench you would think of; it is a combination of a sawhorse and a heavy duty vise. This unique configuration allows for the combination of lightweight portability while maintaining a ruggedness that lasts a lifetime.
Think of having an extra pair of very strong hands helping you on every job. The additional safety this unique workbench provides makes it my favorite tool. I can't tell you how many times I have not had an appropriate work area and ended up doing some sawing or drilling in a very unsafe manner - you know- the foot/knee and chair method. My wife doesn't worry about that anymore.
The clamping feature is basically a jaw that uses a ratchet mechanism to open and close. The jaw (or vise) faces have hard rubber pads and are wide and rigid enough so you can vertically clamp large items. You simply use a foot pedal to clamp your project and then lock the workbench jaw in place by pushing a switch on the front.
The two features that make the JawHorse an ideal tool are its ability to clamp and hold almost anything from piping, to 48" pieces of wood, to a door. The workbench clamp can securely hold a "T" prop that will act as a second pair of hands in putting up a ceiling, or you can simply clamp another tool, like a portable table saw, in place. This tool's 3-legged design allows the JawHorse to provide a steady and stable work area even when the surface is not flat. A great feature for a portable work space.
