Hedge Trimmer Carb Problem? Please Help?

Ok i have a craftsman hedge trimmer, and the carb apperently isnt functioning right, but why im puzzled is because i just replaced the gaskets and cleaned it out. Ok there is a little hole on one end of it, and i think the gas is supposed to "shoot" through it when it is primed to kick start it, but its not. Its overall not getting gas to the piston chamber : I have cleaned the carb, adjusted the carb screws to the books specifications, and replaced several gaskets in the carb, and the gaskets are on right too. The gas line ARE connected right too PLEASE ANY HELP IS WELCOME, THINK OF ANYTHING I MIGHT HAVE OVERLOOKED OR FROM PAST EXPERIENCES. THANKYOU VERY MUCH

greetings, a couple of observations...does your trimmer have a GAS FILTER inside the fuel tank? some of those engines,chain saws as well, have a filter right on the end of your gas line inside the tank (you can see it ,if you look). Also, you mention gaskets you changed, good idea.....this engine MUSt have a diaphragm of sorts to pump gas in when you pull trigger....and its 'usually; a flat 'rubber" (looks like a gasket) think usually located between fuel from tank ,and carb.(sometimes its PART of carb assembly itself)..I dont know what engine you have,assume its 2 cycle...this diaphram might be bolted just below the carb (again ,looks like a gasket, but its a rubberoid flexible material) look for it... GOOD LUCK...this is just some observations from 'generrics' we have had in our shop....CODY
