will an electric turbo work on a ride on lawnmower, or gokart, scooter?
Maybe, depends how much you tinker with it. A couple things to think about:
- Non of these carbs are really designed to be pressurized so you might have some fuel problems with the fuel vents, like fuel dumping out.
- Maintaining the proper air/fuel ratio might prove difficult, if the engine is a 2 stroke then it will be more sensitive and if you lean the fuel ratio too much, it'll seize the piston on you.
Sounds like fun, you could probably use some cheap little industrial blower from a scrap yard and hook a belt drive to the engine so it would increase air flow proportionately as the RPM rises. Kind of a poor man's supercharger but sure would make mowing the yard more fun. Good luck

A mulching mower is a mower that is environmentally friendly as the grass clippings left behind by the mower act as a fertilizer for your lawn. Most other lawn mowers collect the clippings into a bag and you then have to dispose of it. Many people simply toss the grass into the bin; this is a waste in more ways that one. Mulching lawn mowers leave behind fine grass clippings that benefit your lawn and reduce waste.
An electronic mulching lawn mower removes the need for gas and therefore provides an extra environmental benefit in addition to the recycling of grass clippings.
Electric mulching mowers need to be plugged into an outlet to power them, which means you're constrained by the location of power outlets, the length of your power cord, and any obstacles that may snag the cord. If you have a small yard but don't want the forced exercise of using a push reel mower, an electric mower may be for you.
The Black & Decker MM875 Lawn Hog Electric Mulching Mower costs under $250 and comes with many benefits. It has a powerful 12 Amp motor, a 100 foot range and a 19 inch cutting path. You can adjust all four wheels at once with the 1 lever height adjustment. Cutting heights range from 1.25 to 3.5 inches. This is a mulching lawn mower that will do the job and give you years of use.
The best thing of course about this mower is that it's electric. There is no oil or gas needed. It doesn't smell and it's not noisy. And it's light: just 52 pounds.
One customer had a particularly positive comment about the Lawn Hog:
"I am now happily mowing my lawn with the Lawn Hog and I cannot even imagine, in my wildest dreams, ever going back to an environmentally insane, stinky, oily, noisy, shaking gas mower of any kind. By the way, the mulching function works fantastic and I now mulch much more than I bag, just remember to keep the blade clean."
Keep in mind that a mulching lawn mower should not be used on very long grass or thick weeds as they do not function well in those environments, therefore you should aim to mow regularly. Visit http://www.pushlawnmower.org to decide on the mulching lawn mower that you need for your yard.
