Focus Lawn Mower

Should I start mowing lawns for money, or should I focus on helping my wife with selling stuff on Ebay?

I have no experience in landscaping. The only thing I have some experience with is mowing grass. I have toyed with the idea of buying an affordable push mower, and advertising locally to cut lawns. But this is all I would want to offer (cutting grass). I don't want to do trimming, or landscaping, or blowing, or anything else. I just want to offer grass cutting. Is this a lucrative idea? We have a car, and I could carry the push mower in the car (in the trunk, obviously).

My wife wants to get involved with Ebay. We only have a few items to sell on Ebay right now, but she wants to start buying cheap things and reselling them. I know nothing at all about Ebay, but I have a book for dummies on the subject. I intend to read it soon. Would it be better to go with the Ebay idea, or to mow lawns? If I mow lawns, what should I charge? Should I charge per the hour? How much per hour? There is a LOT of competition locally, so would I even get any calls at all?

Thanks for your input.

No harm in you doing both till one or the other takes off.
Your wife can handle it till it gets busy; and if you become involved for a few hours every day this will teach you the ropes of selling (always a good idea to know anyway incase wife gets sick for a few days)

There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. ~ Mirabel Osler
