Honda Lawn Mower is hard to start.?
I have a 2 year old Honda Lawn Mower that is very hard to start. It has a new spark plug and air filter. If I take off the air filter and spray some starting fluid, it starts right up. Any ideas?
Once I spray the starting fluid it starts with no problem and stays running like it should. I just don't know why once it sits for a while, I have to spray it all over again.
Also, I don't think it has a fuel filter. I've looked every where and I don't see anything. Maybe it's in the tank?
your carburetor is plugged up. take it apart , clean and blow it out good. this should do the trick. honda's usually start on the first pull.

Many of us are in the same boat. We've got plenty of junk, but no money. We would like to have some fun, maybe making some new gizmo, or even a go kart.
Well making a go kart can be as easy as 7 easy steps:
1. Layout the length wise members of the Frame on the floor
2. Now apply the cross members for stability
3. Attach the rear axel and engine plate
4. Attach the front axel
5. Attach the engine
6. Attach the seat
7. Attach the Brakes
This sounds too easy to be true, but it applies across the board whether you are building a wood go kart or a metal frame go kart.
Those are the basic steps, the actual putting together of the go kart may be a little more involved.
The things that need to be considered before you make a go kart fall into the following three categories:
-Fit
-Form
-Function
- How much weight is this go kart going to be?
- How many people are going to be riding in it (two seater for example?)
- Will the go kart actually move with the motor I am putting on it?
- How can I figure out the drive system so that I don't burn up a clutch?
- Are the wheels that I chose going to work on a go kart? (for example you can't use plastic wheels from a push mower they will crack and break.)
- Are the components that I selected going to hold up? Or is this go kart going to end up being a slow cart?
- How do I know if my steering system is set up correctly?
- How do I know if my go kart is going to hold up when I go over a bump?
- Will the go kart braking system actually stop this go kart? How can I know for sure before getting on?
This is not even a comprehensive list, but it should get you at least thinking in the right direction before you just slap something together.
Remember this is going to be a moving vehicle, you want it start, stop and hold together.
So get those questions answered before you proceed.
