I have had a McCulloch self propelled with a 5.5 hp Briggs and Stratton motor for eight years. It always starts first or second pull, even on the first cut of the season. I use fully synthetic 5w 40 oil, changed each year,as the cost is minimal due to the small capacity, but I want my mower to last for ever!
