straight gas in 2 stroke engine?
I work in a tool rental shop and we had a makita chain saw returned to us. I tried to turn it on when it was returned but it wouldn't start. I thought it was flooded so I was going to try again after I cleaned it. Well low and behold the yahoos that rented it had straight gas in it. The piston cylinder is scratched up pretty good now.
Is there a way I can repair it? Some people say that a new spark plug should do the trick but it hasn't worked sense the straight gas.
Of course a new sparkplug is not going to fix it. The problem is that it doesn't have enough compression to run due to the damaged piston and cylinder. You can replace the cylinder, piston and connecting rod if the crankshaft is not damaged. If you do the work yourself it shouldn't cost more than $100.00
